So Red, what are you riding? Does different speeds make a difference? I notice that Shimano has lower speeds in their low end lines while Campag... seems to have all 10 speed.

I think it is because price is the only way that the ppl at campagnolo can convince others that theirs is a 'superior' product. Shimano is obviously much more innovative; they invented brifters - and refined and perfected the design for their cranks and bottom bracket while campagnolo was still using square taper design. Shimano took the square taper and allowed it to evolve to the octalink system - before they finally invented the hollowtech II system - which is pretty much perfect and can not be improved upon in any way. Shimano is the future, Campagnolo was the past. If the campagnolo ppl want to evolve and compete and survive in the world of tomorrow - then they best hire some Shimano engineers and move to Japan.. and that's my two cents.
