That's exactly whats' wrong with a wrong-way cyclist. there are no "rules" in place to determine which cyclist yields. If I'm riding the right way, do I yield by going around (meaning riding out into traffic)? Does the wrong way cyclist yield by riding out into traffic? Do we both make the mistake of riding out into traffic, and thereby collide with each other?

Nobody knows, because there are no rules.

Well, actually, there are rules. They're the rules that require cyclists to ride with the direction of traffic.

Now, let's go back to that part where I yield by riding out into traffic-- why should I? I'm riding within the law, and now some f-wit comes along who knows S.F.A. about riding, and I'm supposed to risk a collision to accommodate him? No thanks...
