People can definitely learn on 600cc sport bike. I think that's a tough and somewhat risky way to go, but it would be foolish of me to say that it can't be done. FWIW, however, anyone who says things like "But I wouldn't go for a 250cc ... they are damn slow --- you even have a hard time passing cars!" has likely never ridden one.
