But let me guess: Bikes contributed to the onslaught of Global Warming as factories ramped up production, i.e. more coal was burned to produce steel and tires, and then more coal was burned to transport steel and tires, and then even more was burned to transport the finished product to the consumer. Then the bicycle led to the development of the automobile, and now we know the rest of the story (sorry Paul Harvey)! 120 years later, here on BF-C&V we have determined that without a doubt the bicycle is to blame for the start in the rise of the global average temperature.
In this case I should rent a back hoe, dig a deep trench and bury this antique safety bicycle below the 8 foot frost line and let mother earth take it back to it's original ferrous self.
