The twinglespeeds I envision start off as singlespeeds (a la Monocog), then adding a cog three or four teeth smaller in the back, and a chainring similarly larger in the front. Voila, change gears manually, and no deraileur or tensioner needed. The chain length remains the same as the total number of teeth are the same for both "gears".
