And from what I've been able to see, people seem to be saying good things about bikes_direct.

The main issue for me is that there is a safety factor in going with a local bike shop--although the deals given on-line are pretty hard to argue with. . . .

(I'm definitly thinking about it that option)

It is perfectly safe to buy from us
we sell more bikes everyday that most dealers sell in a month and our customers are delighted when they see how much bike they get for their money

I agree with you; it is hard to tell a retail $2000 bike from a $3000 or even $4000 bike
however, bikes at $600 to $700 are WAY different that bikes that retail at $2000
Big Big difference from Sora/Tiagra to Ultegra/DuraAce [105 is nice - but it is priced very close to Ultegra; so most people jump to ultegra]

If you buy from us; you will be shocked when you get the bike at the spec you got for a bit over $1000
that is what customers tell us daily

and have fun shopping too; then get something you can be excited about

Le Champion is great
but I still think the Sprintour is a smoking deal with great frame/fork and excellent components
