I just want to chime in to say the speedster is a great bike, especially if it is the model year with the bent top tube. A buddy of mine rode one in mpls year round for seven or eight years, I always loved to see newbies with $1000 commuter/touring bikes looking down their nose at him not realizing that he had ridden 100x more road miles then they will ever ride!
BTW, the great, true collective (co-op) lbs in minneapolis "The Hub" also stocked those tires for the same reason as stated above.
