Bikes: Scott Contessa CR1 (2006); Kona Dew Deluxe (2005); Roadmaster Little 500 SS (1997); Peugeot UO10 (1980)

My first pair of cycling shoes were Nikes and I wore them to death-- they really were stiff and comfortable and very affordable.
