I have the same problem. The specialized shoes are first class and relatively wide. I think my latest one which is a 2007 model, lists for $130. It has a slick side buckle with a ratchet adjustment to tighten the top strap. Very comfortable and I don't even need to use my orthodics. It comes in half metric sizes like "45.5".
The top strap is very wide, so it holds well to your foot with little pressure.
I don't know why anyone would need to spend more than $130 unless it's a super-light thing.
