Actually left early enough so that I could ride at a leisurely pace. I had to anyway since I'd left my spd shoes at work (had to take the van home last night), and since I was wearing my dress shoes, there'd be no hard riding or skidding.

When I come through midtown towards the Capitol on L Street, I have a nice bike lane all the way until the edge of the park (15th and L, if you know the area). Because of the timing of the lights between 16th and 15th street, I always have to wait for the light at 15th. What I've started to do lately is to take my spot dead center in the motor lane at the light and just hold that position all the way to 11th. Since I've started doing this, no one has buzzed or even honked at me. I'd mention that in A&S, but I can't stand the pissing and moaning there. So I thought I'd just share that with you guys.
