For three years I rode my single speed in many different permutations. However, this morning was the virgin ride of that same cycle after two weeks of rebuilding... this time it is laden with a SRAM/Sachs 3 speed gear hub........... and I love it.

First "modern" gear hub I've used... is so.. nice. Slick shifting, no derailleur and ease-of-use - just about everything I loved about single speeding. The weight seems minimal to me as I cruised to work at 20mph - fastest trip to work ever... now I can roll off my couch at 8:51am and be at work... on time (yeah, like that happens often anyway).
