Looks to me that she is using what you know about bikes to get to you.
Trying to tell you that you don't know jack about bikes. Ya know - under the premise that since she met this new friend he knows so much that YOU didn't know that now she feels it's okay to go ahead and "get a bike" - if she does.
It's just ammunition.
