As far as the single payer universal health care: + 1, 000 000. I was raised in a country with universal health care, and it was great! If I leave this country (the US) the scams the insurance companies play on the health of americans will be the major reason. I am tired to live in a place where healthcare is a luxury, but as of right now, I am stuck here... If I lived in France or England, I am pretty sure that my back would have been fixed right now, and I know that I would not have to fork out a small fortune for the operation....
I have a climbing buddy who lives in Paris and he had a climbing accident in Joshua Tree. He was out $10K before he knew it! I wish we could get to health care system here that is not controlled by one special group or another (i.e. insurance, big pharma, health care (e.g HealthSouth)).
