Do you guys think my Townie would be a good commuter or should I look into getting something else? I'm a 5'9" female weighing about 140 pounds. My advice is to try commuting to work on an off-day and see how it feels. I'm guessing from your details above grocery shopping and the like isn't 8.5 miles away. Therefore, this commute may be the longest trip you've taken on the bike. In summary, try it, you might like it!
