If you guys are saying good things about Bridgestones, I may take it into the LBS and throw a few bucks into it. Then I'd have a comfort bike and decent road bike

I'm here in Waco attending Baylor University... as for the Bridgestone, I have like a 1989-ish Paramount that I recently upgraded to a more modern STI shifter (brake lever shifter combo as is common now days) and a 9 speed setup. Investment was fairly minimal and the bike rides/handles great with some better gearing. May be worth it to throw some money into the Bridgestone if it fits you well and you are happy with it.
