i've gotten 2 flats since i've been riding, one of which happened last weekend. based on that, i certainly wouldn't carry a big and bulky threadless inflater over a tiny threaded inflater just because i could get a deal on a bulk of cartridges that i will need once in a while...
if you need to have 25 cartridges on-hand, you have bigger problems than the inflater...
