I've got the same one. The mini pump is crap, but will get some air into the tire so the bead can be verified before using the CO2. Also, putting some air in before the CO2 will allow a 12g cartridge to fill the tire to a little bit higher PSI.
The Second Wind I have fits in my saddle bag, so I never forget to bring it along as I would with some things that I'd keep in my pockets.
