Your reading a bit too much into it. But maybe not too much.
The point i was making is that only fully separated facilities would eliminate harrassment from motorists. Take the motorists off the road or the cyclists - that's a different arguement and not one I was trying to make one way or the other.

But when I say maybe not too much - I mean I don't think it is realistic (although it would be nice) if all roads were closed to motor vehicles. I do however think it is possible in some denser urban areas.

I also do not think it is realistic or possible for a fully separate non-motorist infrastructure either. I do think that some folks in their desire to push for one may make severe compromises to try to achieve such, which poses a great danger to cyclists rights and/or safety
