Bad situation goes good

Based on reading these forums, I’ve adopted a “kill em with kindness” attitude towards the occasional rude cager.
I had a great experience on the Friday evening commute. I’m stopped at a stop sign, waiting for cross traffic, when the truck behind me blares on the horn. A good angry 3-4 second blast. I’ve been wondering about the truck, as it had followed me through several intersections. The road is at least 15 feet wide, and the truck never passed….
In response to the horn, I turn around. There is a girl behind the wheel and 2 guys with her. She hollers and points “get on the sidewalk!”.
I smiled and rode up next to the driver’s window. She hurriedly rolls it up
I grinned some more and motioned her to roll it down. She did an inch or so, quite apprehensive-looking at this point.
I said “traffic code says I can’t be on the sidewalk. I’m just trying not to get run over out here”
She huffs and takes off.
A stop later, I catch up and am beside them. The window comes down (not sure why since the big back glass is GONE ) and she says “sorry!” the guy nearest me says “you’re right, that is the code.”
I grin and wave and cycle off.
Made my day; had to share.
