My SS, formerly an English (German-made) 3-spd still weighs 32 lbs despite a Cannondale aluminum fork, Sun AT18 alu. rims, Kalloy alu. stem and no 3-spd hub. It rides wonderful and is an awesome grocery-getter but I really could use more gears. A modern 3-spd (or more!) internal hub is an excellent idea.

I wonder if Bicycle Forums should have a seperate forum for internal hub gear bikes or a sub-forum of the fixed/SS forum?
