Ah, a pump peg!
I once had a pump for my Schwinn LeTour. You clamped two matte-finished silver colored pegs around the frame. I would say they were less like pegs and more like sharp skewers, but the handle of the pump included a spring that allowed you to compress the shaft/handle, align the holes at each end of the pump with the two pegs/skewers, and she would ride along just fine.

No such peg on the Giant frame.

I'll keep attaching to my water bottle until I figure out something better.

No doubt I could attach to one of the water bottle screws - I just am not fond of that solution. I'm looking to have the pump in line with the frame. Cannot fit the pump between down seat tube (is that the correct terminology??) and the rear tire, as there is no room. That tube actually has a concave spot to accommodate the rear tire and shorten the wheelbase.

Thanks for the suggestions.
