Triple here as well. Helps out while riding in the mountains.
Strangely enough I was looking for a double but since the bike I was looking at was on sale with a triple I took it and ran.
It is not like I have to use it if it is not needed. Anyhow, I pretty much stay in the large chainring in the metro area.
