roccobike, my guess is that your Traveler is an '84. I've got both an '83 le tour luxe and an '84 le tour, and the graphics style on the '84 le tour is identical to your Traveler. The '83 is different, in fact the graphics style on the '83 is unlike any other Schwinns I've seen, it may have been a one-year deal. Your bike is a great looking bike, btw.

As for the OP's Traveler, one thing I know, the '79 Travelers were definitely made in Japan, I remember that distinctly about mine. I seem to remember that '80 Travelers were made in Taiwan, but I could very well be wrong on that. Since the OP's bike is made in Taiwan, maybe an '80? I do remember that the scarlet flame color was also available in '80. It is, in my opinion, the most brilliant red paint color ever produced. Man, do I miss my '79 Traveler, if for no other reason than for that wonderful red color!-
