I read that in the early 70's, Schwinn imported some bikes from Japan that said "Schwinn Approved". The artical said these bikes were made by Panasonic. I had a le tour that had that decal earlier this year that I flipped. I have no way of knowing if the relationship with Panasonic continued to late 70s.
As for value of the OPs bike, I think that depends on the area of the country. I live near Raleigh, NC. A bike like that might bring $100, but I doubt it would bring more. Now, if you were talking near New York City, it might bring a lot more. BTW, unless its being sold in a low population area, I would use Craigslist and sell it locally to avoid shipping charges. But that's me.
Well Biked, thank you for the compliment. I would really like to see photos of your le tour luxe. I'm not sure if I've seen it before.
