Yesterday was my drive-to-work day as I needed to bring clean clothes and take home my dirty ones. However, I bike commuted to the group ride with my friends after work, so avoided an extra 20 miles of driving. The group ride was a nice easy pace and very enjoyable, except I got caught in a thunderstorm about 3 miles from home. It was pouring so hard I could barely see and there were rivers of water running along the curbs, so I got totally soaked. The rain stopped about two blocks from my house, and my street was totally dry.

With a fresh stock of clean clothes, I cycled to work again this morning. I overslept and was tempted to drive, but since I had everything laid out and ready to go, I managed to leave on time. Got to work earlier than usual and my legs felt fresh despite the 40-miler after work yesterday. Someone brought a big box of Krispy Kreem donuts to work, and I considered that my reward for biking. Nice way to start the day.
