Most computers should carry 512 or 1gb ($100 ish) sticks although it might be harder to find now. Cavit8 was seeking ddr1 before...

Yeah, I bought a gig chip off of James. DDR is 184 pin and DDR2 is 240 pin. The notch in DDR is slightly offset, the one in DDR2 is pretty much in the middle of the chip.

Buying a higher number (eg. DDR-400) is fine, as it will just run at 333 anyway.
