DP18's have been crashed and smashed and are still true, on formula hubs. get fixed/fixed if you can, you can slap a freewheel on a fixed thread but can't install a cog on a freewheel thread, so if you strip your threads before you destroy your hubs/wheels you have a second chance
this is a man of wisdom. Weinmann DP 18's are some solid budget rims. deep profile for a nice strong rim, have them laced by a shop to something sealed from surly, iro, etc. and you will never regret it. my dp18/iro build has been great. not light, but very solid.
