I bought a used Gary Fisher Tassajara with these components - could you guys tell me whats good/decent or junk?

Not looking to upgrade now but to get some info on what I have and work on it over this winter in VT.

Front Suspension: RS Jett
Front Rim: Weinmann 519
Rear Rim: Weinmann Double Walled Zach 19
Crank Arms say: Shimano Acera
Rear Derailer says: Shimano Deore X
Tires: WTB Primal Raptors 47/54
Handle Bar: 6061 t6 Aluminum 230grams
Sadle: Contour CRZ Plus

I'd like to get into Novice level MTN Biking over the next couple seasons and will not be buying a new bike. Thoughts? Insight? Links?

Thanks guys!
Bicycling works well for knee rehab.

Your bike is a pretty good mid-level mountain bike. Ride it as is and save for something better as you get better. Generally, a $600 to $800 bike is good to ride and good to learn skills on. It's not the best platform to spend a lot of money on for upgrades. If you spend another $600 on upgrades (which is easier to do than you might think ), you still have a $600 bike that cost you $1200.

Ride it, have fun with it, don't get too attached - it's just a bike - and go drool on something higher up the food chain.
