Same here - I've a garage full of crap.

I just replace with whatever works, and don't fret too much over original unless it it a special bike. In that case, it's off to eBay or else wheeling-dealing with you pirates.

I've found the opposite of you - with the advent of 8/9/10 speed drive-trains, vintage stuff is kicked to the curb just about everywhere and practically free. Again, with the obvious exception of the special ones. Every now and then I get pinched for good wheel-sets, but they always seem to turn up eventually.

Most of the parts I have I stripped off of wrecked bikes, or inherited from other folks that were sick of tripping over them.
