I've been volunteering at Earn-A-Bike in Worcester and started building my first fixed gear. After rifling through all the frames in the pile-o-bikes, I found a black Univega frame that was relatively free of rust and perfectly straight but otherwise kinda ugly. I stripped it down and cleaned everything, rebuilt the BB, found some rad clipless pedals (one yellow, one red) , put on some cool GT bars and rebuilt the brakes with new cables and pads. It still needs wheels and a chain but it's coming along. Best part is, it's free! Everyone who donates 5 hours of volunteer time gets to build a bike. I'll post pictures soon!
