Well, technically I live in the Mid-Atlantic area, rather than the South. Our mountains around here are up to 6000'+. We get about 6 or 7 decent snows / year, and yes I still ride 10+ miles even when it's in the single digits (below 0 windchill). I simply wear layers, with neoprene socks & gloves. I wear goggles and a full face fleece garmet. I stay warm no matter what the temp or windchill.... Some people have excuses why they don't ride. That's fine. I love to ride & there's not much that can stop me. I don't look for reasons NOT to ride, believe me. I don't start a ride if it's pouring rain, nor if there's more than 4 or 5" of snow already on the ground. Otherwise I'm out there 3 days a week, period.
See ya around!
