So in winter the panniers are full getting ready for the commute. Minimal stuff in the other months.. Do not like the fog going home either that we get in the winterish months.Maybe a surprise sprinkle comes up, you did not plan for..Sometimes, think we can trust the weather forcaster.
Summer need not take a thing. My clothes are already at work.
As to the drive...There in Montana? Traffic.?.People drive courteously? Not here...
Interesting. I find prepairing to commute in sub-freezing temperatures of winter less of a hassle than those of spring. An example of this is my morning commute is often below freezing and 70F or above for the trip home. Then this week, snow. The ever changing dynamic of spring/fall makes the preperation more frustrating than when you know its not going to warm above freezing.

As for the drivers up here. I have been right-hooked back in March. The driver was an elderly gentleman who it appears has had a stroke some time ago. The worst to deal with up here is the "teeny-boppers" in daddys 4x4 or mommy's SUV. The bulk of my commute is rural. Once I'm in the city, I try to stay on side streets so don't have major problems.

There are several reasons to live in Montana. I rank the quality of life the most important.
