Agree if you don't have a problem with chaffing, no need to use it. On my first Century ride this year, I was on a new bike and saddle, and got really painful chaffing for the first time. It was torture for the last 15 miles. I had two red stripes and some missing skin on the outside of my sitzbones which took several days to heal.

Since then, I've been using either "Chamois Butt'r", a heavy hand creme, or Vaseline. I won't go on a long ride without some kind of anti-chaff again.
