Funny this thread is already going...I was headed her for speculation on this statement (itals) in a Cervelo press release yesterday

Cervélo Cycles seeks international distributors

"If you are interested in selling the bike that dominated the 2003 Tour de France, we want to hear from you," said Sam Monardo, general manager of the Canadian TT, tri and road-bike brand. Cervelo of Toronto is seeking distributors in the UK, South Africa, Denmark and Italy.

Monardo said Cervélo wants to link up with established distributors with existing dealer networks.

The company was founded in 1995 by engineers Phil White and Gérard Vroomen. Cervélo has always been a time trial bike specialist, with its bikes often rebadged and painted by pro teams sponsored by other bicycle manufacturers.

"{The] biggest story in road for [us] may have been a certain somebody riding a certain Cervélo disguised as a certain something else in a certain French race," says Cervelo.com.

In 2003, Team CSC were equipped with Cervélo bikes, and Tyler Hamilton rode a Soloist to victory in that year's Liege-Bastogne-Liege, as well going through the pain barrier to finish the Tour de France with a cracked clavicle, a feat that will see the Cervélo name up in lights in the forthcoming large-format film, 'Brainpower'.

This is a 40-minute IMAX movie, the large-format film that has to be screened in format-specific cinemas.
