I really, really like the 3 sets of Cane Creek's I've had.

the cheapest model is around $250, and is very strong. the weight is more centralized around the hub (compared to wheelsets of comparable total weight), making the wheel faster to accelerate.

My first set had about 12,000 heavy commuting miles (trued twice) before I retired them for a disc-brake set.

Second set just rolled past 2000 miles, no truing.

3rd set is on the full-susser mtb and only has a few hundred on it.

I highly, highly recommend both the product and the company. They are a bunch of good guys in NC. I've called them a couple times w/questions and talked to the real live people building wheels. The last set of wheels was missing an exterior seal (rubber cap over cartridge bearing). They fedexed out the missing part overnight.
