I'm assuming those batteries are the lead-acid batteries from emergency lighting. You can get them at Active surplus (or at least you used to be able to) I had a setup that would burn 6hrs at 30W. The downside: the battery weighed 5.5 lbs!

I used them at a 24hrs of adrenaline in 97 or so, and they worked well
