Deep Vs have no weld -- they're pinned. If it's not perfectly aligned, just use a sanding block on the braking surface -- takes 15 seconds to straighten it out forever. Mavics are fine. They're more expensive, and the welded seam adds no value. The CXPs are also not quite as tough as the Deep Vs, and the Open Pros are a far cry. There's really nothing bad to be said of Mavics though.
