When I go into a store looking to spend money (a lot of it) and the employess won't even acknowledge me. I was just at a LBS looking to buy some new sidi shoes, shimano pedals and a bunch of other things for a total of over $500. I stood there for half an hour while the stupid sales people walked back and forth and helped other customers instead of me. Not one of them asked if I needed help. In all honesty all I had to do was tell them what I wanted and they had to go get it from the back room and ring me up. I knew exactly what I wanted.
