When my current pannier's clips break I'll replace with Ortlieb hardware. I borrowed a frontroller for a while, it is a fantastic piece of kit.

The QR system is great when the bags go on and off the bike every day; cip-unclip 2-3x/day gets old pretty fast. More of an issue commuting than touring, for me anyway.

Re waterproof or not - the Ortliebs definitely keep things dry, but what about wet gear that you need to carry? Opinions vary, I like Ortliebs but some like many pockets rather than the one. Also, I still reckon you need to keep the critical stuff in a separate waterproof bag (down sleeping bag on tour, computer & phone at home) just in case.

Please advise
Ummm... definitely something with the QR system; Ortlieb if price is not the decider.
