In so far as a touring frame beigh heavy, I did the following quick research:

A Performance Bike aluminum/carbon-fiber frame/fork combo (Scattante XLR) = 4.7 lbs

A Surly Long Haul Trucker steel/steel frame/fork = 7.4 lbs

Personally, at 6' - 2-1/2" with a 54" chest, 38" waist, size 14 feet, and 265 lbs, I'm not going to worry about less than 3 lbs. I ordered a Long Haul Trucker, 60cm.
