This is one I have to share - I was cycling along Kew Road (London) this morning when I saw some bird of prey (a buzzard?) by the side of the road, hovering only about 8 feet above the ground...and the moment I cycled past, it dived onto the grass verge, landing on it's prey which I couldn't see but could hear squealing...
It was amazing - I've only ever seen that in nature programmes...and I was even more surprised to see it right at the edge of a busy road! The bird seemed totally unfazed by me on my Strida...
I doubt if I would have seen it if I were zooming past in a car. Take that, motorists!
