(Continued from Part 1)

After a grulling climb to a location called HooDoo Rocks, it was down the fast and
then rocky decent to the plateau before Moonrocks. I was able to get ahead of
a few in the real rocky section.

Here comes Dave having entirely too much fun.

Then it was up onto Moonrocks. This is a nearly solid limestone mountain top.
We had a great time making our way through the extremely rocky terrain.

After making our way off Moonrocks and through the maze of a trail through the
swamp below Moonrocks, we crossed the creek and start out climb to Mount
Strip Mine.


We flew off Mt Strip Mine and onto several miles of milder trails just to rack up the
miles. After the ride was actually over, Dan, Jason and I retraced our track to
find some of the tools I lost from my seat pack and to return to the HooDoo Rock
area to locate a pair of sunglasses Jason had lost. Just before Moonrocks, I split
off from Dan and Jason to check out a new trail established in the last month and
would met up with Dan and Jason on the other side of HooDoo Rocks.

Meeting Dan and Jason on the HooDoo Rock Trail and then returned to camp.


Back at camp, another friend, Pat had arrived. We talked for a while and had a
few beers. Then laughed our arses off as Pat brough in an air mattress larger
than his tent. He said "It'll fit if I have to go get some KY"!




It actually fit. Then we had a visit from this strange looking guest. It appeared
to be a miniature hummingbird but didn't quite look right. It flew like a hummingbird
and had colorful feather like features on it's tail. After some research when I
returned home and the help of some friends, we discovered it is a species of the
Sphinx Moth, the Clearwing Hummingbird Moth. Pretty damn cool !


Then we just sat back and enjoyed the company of good friends we hadn't seen for
nearly a year.
