A few ways I save money.

I like to buy Day Old Bread from Jimmy John's. $0.45 for two Sandwiches worth of French Bread. I'm eating some right now.

Also, I use only rechargeable Batteries. They cost 3 times as much, but last 1000 times as long.

Finally, CFLs. Again, they cost 3 times as much, but last 8 times longer, and use less than 1/4th the energy. And are thus 8x4(1/3) ~ 11 times better than regular bulbs
