The EnergyStar site says CFLs can "Save about $30 or more in electricity costs over each bulb's lifetime." I found a package of 8 bulbs for $10.56 at Sam's recently. Costs a bit more but the investment should net me $240 and reduce the amount of labour needed to change out bulbs.
Hey, that reminds me of a joke about how many (Take your pick) are needed to change a light bulb! I guess that joke will have to be modified if no one remembers how to do that task anymore.
