Whatever happened to maintenance free cleats?

My Speedplays fill with dirt, grass and gravel and the screw heads get worn away so that they're a beach to remove down at the shop. Yes, I had to walk a mile in them once after a double tube, pump failure, but those things will happen once a year or so.


I'm usually pretty quiet about my growing distaste for Speedplays but hey, there's nothing like glowing praise for a marginal product to draw in the crosshairs!
