A 16gram cartridge will get you ~100psi. Enough to get you home. There is a product that is a frame pump but also works as a cartridge pump. It takes threaded cartridges. That said I'm new to riding, I keep 2 tubes, and 2 cartridges, and a tire bar in the saddlebag, along with my cell phone . I have yet to do any rides where I would even need 2 tubes but since there's room and I'm just doing condition training, the extra weight isn't a problem. Not that I would notice the difference anyway right now.
