Feed and property costs have been rising steadily lately, plus milk is heavy, so it's expensive to truck around. No doubt fuel costs are contributing to the rise. If they need the extra, I don't mind paying, but to slap it on all at once? Nuh-uh, I ain't going for that one. My plan is to take calcium supplements and cut out ice cream and cheese unless it's on sale. If I need the protein, I'll look to eggs. I would have preferred it if they'd gradually increased the price so that the shock wouldn't have been so great, but damn! One day, milk was $1.79, and the next week, it was $3.59. That's just way out of my budget right now.
