Shimano R600 Road Wheelset Are these good commuting wheels?

Nashbar has these for a good deal right now, and I thought it may be good to upgrade. Here are the specs:

The Ultegra level wheel is fianlly back for 10speed. The Shimano R600 wheelset is a great all arounder that works well as an everyday wheelset or an extra aero wheelset for the amateur racer. 771g front and 959g rear. 10-speed Shimano only compatibility.
Front: 16 spokes
Rear: 20 spokes
Aluminum Freehub Body
Stainless bladed spokes
Skewers included

My questions for the bike experts are:

will this work with a 9 speed brifter, or will I have to upgrade the brifter and cassette?

Will this support my weight I'm about 190
Will they last longer than the bontrager race wheels. I currently have a new pair. (They lasted about 5,000 miles)

Thanks for the help.
