Example: In Canada we have a program that anyone caught for DUI has their name published on websites, newspapers and so on so people are aware of DUI offenders. Not when you're giving out traceable information on an alleged criminal. For all you know the person was borrowing the car, (or it was a rental). Think about it, if someone got ahold of the information and "did something about it" not knowing that the vehicle really didn't belong to the accused and that the person driving has nothing to do with the incident you'd feel pretty damn ******.

Posting the name of someone who was arrested is different than posting the license plate of their sister's car.
