It IS a Nuovo Valentino, but it didn't come out until 81-82 and was probably available until 86. giveaways are the lipped non-drilled cage (GS or NV only) and the bushed like area on the pivot arm (NV only - GS had a smooth joint).
Correction, it was introduced in the 17a supplement, which was what? 1979.... so probably around in 1978.

I don't think this was ever used at the 980 front changer.
